My last journal entry was a good year and a half ago (on or around my birthday, so it seems - probably fueled by the drinking you just happen to do on your 18th, because god knows I never write in this thing unless inebriated.)
(Note: That was not a confession to any drunkenness or partaking of illegal substances at this exact moment. Just covering my bases.)
Well, what I noted was that I spent about 80% of the entry having a hard-on for Andrew Bird, and as I just now came back from my second Andrew Bird concert in seven days, I thought it'd be quite apropos to post an entry at this point.
Which is bull, because I probably don't really have anything of substance to say. Basically, I am once more just writing to hear the sound of my own ... words. But it would be doing the man a disservice NOT to say that if you ever have the opportunity to see him in concert? Run, don't walk. I am completely serious. I've been to a lot of concerts and performances in my day, but nothing beats Mr. Andrew Bird. Not even Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and you know how I feel about
them.
Basically II: in a week, I've spent upwards of 20000:- in order to be able to see Andrew Bird in both Chicago and Gothenburg. That's a lot of money, and I don't regret having spent a single crown. I would be completely on-board with
dying right now even, because even if I haven't as such accomplished anything myself, I feel like I've experienced the pinnacle of experiences. Twice, bitches.
Twice. To round this off, I'll have to link you to a photo of my DS, which I got signed by the Big Bird himself, and also note that while "Imitosis" is a great song both at home and on the road, it never kills as much as when it's done live - and if you don't take the opportunity to see it if you're ever granted one, well, you suck and you're stupid.
(And I mean that in the worst way possible.)
The DS of doom!Talk to you in another two years or so.
